Verifiable Random Functions (VRF) are cryptographic primitives that generate random numbers that are both unpredictable and verifiable.
This allows to create "trustless randomness", i.e. generate (pseudo-) random numbers in decentralized systems and provide the assurance that the number was indeed generated randomly.
