Added functionality that should be useful in conjunction with (as yet unimplemented) variable interpolation linearity. _The idea is that allowing the number of interpolated points to vary with the curvature along any given spline section (or inversely with the radius of curvature) should give a very good piecewise linear approximation to the entire curve._
