We are excited to announce the latest release of FourDExplorer, featuring significant new functionalities and improvements for processing and analyzing 4D-STEM data. Below are the key updates:
New Features:
- Manual Diffraction Shift Alignment: Added a method for manually adjusting diffraction shift alignment.
- Reference-based Diffraction Shift Alignment: Implemented a method for aligning diffraction shifts using reference datasets.
- FDDNet-based Diffraction Shift Alignment: Introduced the use of FDDNet for measuring diffraction image positions and performing diffraction shift alignment.
- Rotational Offset Correction: Added a method based on Axial Bright Field Image from Defocused 4D-STEM Dataset for correcting rotational offset. Introduced a method based on minimizing the curl of the Center of Mass to correct rotational offset.
- 4D-STEM Reconstruction: Supported reconstruction methods based on Virtual Imaging. Added reconstruction methods based on the Center of Mass.
- Metadata and Parameter Management: Systematically manage experimental metadata and parameters with an integrated user interface for easy editing.
- Guided Parameter Editing: Added an intuitive interface to guide users through editing 4D-STEM experimental parameters.
- Scale Bar Rendering: Automatically render a scale bar when displaying 4D-STEM datasets or 2D images, based on physical parameters.
- Background Subtraction: Implemented background subtraction methods using reference background images.
- Noise Reduction: Introduced a Histogram-based Filter to effectively reduce background noise.
- Data Import Support:
o Added support for importing 4D-STEM datasets in DM4 format.
o Supported importing 4D-STEM datasets in EMPAD .raw format and Merlin Medipix .mib format.
o Extended support for importing 4D-STEM datasets from npy, npz, and hdf5 formats.
- Additional Improvements: Various optimizations and bug fixes to enhance the user experience.
