4.2.1dev

--------

- Add [de los Reyes et al.](https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2023ApJ...951...52D/abstract)
equation for covariance noise calibration
- Improve ability to toggle *off* analysis modules
- Emission-line modeling updates:

- Enable the stellar velocity to be tied to the gas velocities. The goal is
to allow for fitting a stellar continuum that can nominally account for
stellar absorption and nebular emission, even when the continuum has very
low S/N.
- Allow kinematic components to be fixed (full integration into the code is
still in development).
- Allow for *only* gas templates to be fit. The continuum will be fit by a
polynomial.
- Old construction of emission-line continuum baseline extension ("BASE")
deprecated. The continuum fit during the stellar-kinematics module and
the continuum fit during the emission-line model fitting are now
independent of each other in the reference files.
- Added parameters that can be used to set how ppxf errors are treated, and
whether or not groups of spectra should be treated as an "ensemble"; i.e.,
part of the same galaxy at the same redshift.

- Basic code maintenance

4.2.0

-------------------

- Deprecate support for python 3.10
- Change TOML dependency from ``tomli`` to ``tomllib``.
- Verify support for numpy>=2.0 and bump dependency to pydl>=1.0
- Adds "MASTARHC2-NOISM" and "MASTARSSP-NOISM" templates

4.1.2

-------------------

- Fixed a bug when using the covariance calibration method, instead of a direct
calculation of the covariance matrix. Thanks to reporter from issue 115,
iandroberts.
- Minor package updates: bumps python support to 3.10-3.12, minor doc updates,
and removes use of deprecated ``pkg_resources``.

4.1.1

-------------------

- Fixed bug in initial guess used for emission-line kinematics. Now ensures
that initial guess satisfies any imposed inequalities.

4.1.0

-------------------

- Adds script for creating synthetic MaNGA datacubes for testing.
- Change syntax for emission-line modeling files to enable additional tying
strategies that make it easier to implement multi-component fitting.

4.0.4

-------------------

- Update required pPXF version to 8.1.0. Previous version required (7.4.3) may
have had a bug when combining fixed and tied kinematic parameters with
parameter inequalities.
