In 2019, BISIP was re-written from the ground up with a powerful [ensemble MCMC sampler](https://projecteuclid.org/euclid.camcos/1513731992), reduced dependencies, better code practice and improved [documentation](https://bisip.readthedocs.io). This release merges the new code from the `bisip2-dev` branch into the `main` branch.
The original version of the code as published in [2017](https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cageo.2017.05.001) will no longer be maintained. It will however remain available for download under the `bisip1-archive` branch or from the [v1.0.0](https://github.com/clberube/BISIP/tree/v1.0) release.
