This PR makes the local task call pattern (like when you run `my_task()` in a unit test directly, without a workflow), the same as the workflow call pattern. This cleans up the code a bit but more importantly will start to trigger the type engine for inputs and outputs. Please see the PR and the corresponding issue for more information.
