[PeARS orchard](http://pearsearch.org/technology.html) is the first phase of building a completely decentralized search engine for the web.
Release highlights
* Orchard lets you have a locally running search service.
* To start searching, you need these tiny data blobs called snow pods. These snow pods are being created by some wonderful people of the community by indexing their search history making all of us one information richer at a time. This takes us to the next highlight.
* PeARS orchard lets you index your search history(the ones you prefer, of course) and create your own snow pod for the rest of us. You can even publish this snow pod online using our [PeARS pod](https://github.com/PeARSearch/PeARS-pod). And of course, there is no way anyone can figure out it is your snow pod, unless you tell them.
* It lets you efficiently search through the contents of the added pods using distributed semantics algorithms.
